Says Rachel, owner of the new treehouse we built for her in downtown Asheville NC: "As a city girl, I did not grow up with an appreciation for trees. In Chicago, trees felt like an afterthought in a city built of concrete and steel. But now that I live in Asheville, trees have become a deep source of joy in my life. I am continually transfixed by their magnificence—the almost otherworldly wisdom they seem to hold. And so when my friend's seven-year-old son suggested that I build a tree house, I knew it was a natural progression in my adoration of nature and sacred spaces. This tree house has grown into something more amazing than I could have imagined. It is a floating work of art, thanks to the vision and talent of the team that created it (a heartfelt thank you to World Treehouses, Adam Laufer, Michael, and Renn Mahr). Inside, it truly feels like a magical space of sweet solace. I hope this project inspires others to also follow crazy dreams and declare that we are never too old to bring childlike wonder into our lives."
